EMDR Therapy: Healing from the Past, Thriving in the Present
What is EMDR Therapy?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful therapeutic approach that helps individuals overcome emotional distress caused by past experiences. By targeting the negative beliefs and emotions linked to experiences, EMDR allows you to show up more fully in your life — feeling more grounded, confident, and capable in the present and future.
How EMDR Works
At the core of EMDR is a process that helps the brain reprocess disturbing memories. This includes addressing both “big T” traumas (such as abuse, accidents, or loss) and “little t” traumas (such as chronic stress or childhood experiences that shaped your beliefs). EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements) to help the brain integrate these memories in a healthier way, changing how they affect your life today.
What EMDR Can Help With
EMDR is effective in treating a wide range of emotional challenges, including:
Anxiety
